Hi, GSD Factor friends! R.C. Farrish here!
I want to share something that I learned from one of my teachers. It’s the idea of glowing and growing. It’s a way we look at our school assignments. After sharing it with my Mom, we realized it’s something that can be used in lots of different ways.
Glow means asking the question, “What did I do well? Grow means asking the question, “What can I work on?”
Here is an example that we use in class. We are put into teams of two for our writing and review assignment. I’ve just completed writing an essay, and my classmate reads it. They have to give me a glow and a grow. A glow could be “ Good capitalization,” and a grow could be, “You could work on your punctuation.” This is just one example, but you can see how there can be lots of glows and grows.
I’m very literal; my Dad even calls me “Captain Literal.” I like glow and grow because a glow helps me by telling me what I did well, and grow helps me by telling me what I could work on. Glow and grow is very helpful as I’m learning.
Be sure to check out the visual storybook of my GSD Factor Juniors book which is narrated by me! The sparkling gems is my favorite part!
Ok bye!
